Deanna (D.D.) Webb Dietz
1932 N. Horseshoe Trail, Tucson, AZ 85745. I have lived in this home for 36 years and still love it. My husband and I have travelled all over the country and to other countries as well. We love travelling in the USA best.
FAMILY:
Both my parents are deceased. My sister (class of 61)
lives in SC with her family. I was divorced from my
first husband after 14 years and had 3 children with
him. Two of my children are deceased but I do have 4
grandchildren. My current husband of 28 years, Milton
(Mike) Dietz, has 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 15
greats. they are scattered all over the country. One
of our youngest gsons is currently in the Marine
Corps and of course we are extremely proud of him as
he followed in Mike"s steps. Mike is an Iwo Jima
Marine.
CAREER:
After high school I worked for a while at Mt. Bell
and then had my children. When they were small I
went to work at Tucson Electric Power and worked
there 14 years where I taught employees how deal with
customers. I also met my 2nd husband there and we
married two years before I left the company.
AVOCATIONS:
Our greatest hobby. has been Genealogy. After Mike
retired we spent 10 years working on both of our
families. I am still working on my family and
continue to locate family members and have new
surprises. We have completed Mike's family tree and
have two books in the Mormon Library about his
families.
Our other great love is our little Chihuahua, Pipka.
He goes everywhere we go and is a great little guy.
We are both also involved in the 5th Marine Division
Association. Mike is the Chairman of the Trustees
and I was last year's President of the Ladies
Auxillary. These are Iwo Jima survivors and we have
been involved with the association since 1980.
When we retired we made a stop in Wisconsin on our 5 month trip and I fell in love with the state. We moved our
travel trailer there in 1988 and spent the summers
working on our Genealogy. Once we were finished with
that I didn't want to quit going there. Now we continue to spend May thru the middle of October there and then we head back to Tucson for the winters. We call Wisconsin Dells our second home.
