It always seemed as if 1984 was so far away, after all, it was the title of a book by George Orwell. The way he saw this year...the world is divided into three countries that include the entire globe: Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia. Oceania, and both of the others, is a totalitarian society led by Big Brother, which censors everyone's behavior, even their thoughts.
Actually, not that much had changed. We were all a little older, 25 years to be exact, and in the midst of our life's work.
